Carramar Kindergarten first started as part of St. Matthew’s Kindergarten, John Street (South) in 1974. 

The Centre became Carramar Kindergarten Inc in August 1978 and in July 1997 we became Carramar Community Pre-school & Kindergarten Association Incorporated.

Carramar Community Pre-school and Kindergarten Association Incorporated has continued to improve and expand over the years and in 2000 our Centre moved to its current location in Alice St and opened to children and their families in 2001.

Carramar Community Kindergarten continues its great affiliation with C&K.  We are very proud to be associated with an organisation that puts 'children first'.  C&K not only offers us a fantastic curriculum to use but assists us with our policies, procedures, compliance and our educational program.

Carramar has continued to thrive and values itself on the fantastic indoor/outdoor program it is able to offer our children.  This indoor/outdoor environment allows children to freely explore both areas depending on their interests and needs.  Educators set up different play experiences and provocations depending on these interests and needs and the children build on these.  We have found allowing children to freely access both these areas as they wish allows for a calmer environment, children are more engaged in what they are doing and educators are able to work along side children as they create and learn using intentional teaching strategies to extend and develop the play further.

Carramar Kindergarten has received an Exceeding Rating from the Australian Children's Education and Care Quality Authority and strives to improve and develop our practices further everyday.
